What this site does not do
Most pages of this kind describe what they offer. This one describes what is missing, because the absences were chosen and several of them are the reason the site exists in this shape.
The list
- No connections to any onion address listed here. Not once.
- No uptime percentages.
- No last checked dates.
- No status indicators of any kind.
- No claim that any address is working right now.
- No ranking of one address above another.
- No advertising, referral links or paid placement.
- No testimonials, reviews or user counts.
- No invented statistics.
Why no monitoring
Because a monitoring result would describe our path at a past moment and would be read as a description of your path now. That gap is not closable by checking more often. The reasoning is on the live status page and it is the argument this site is built around.
A green tick that is sometimes wrong is worse than nothing, because it replaces the check you would otherwise have done yourself.
Why no ranking
Labelling one address primary implies knowledge of its state. We have none, since we do not connect. The three strings on the address page appear in the order they were given to us and that order carries no meaning.
Why no numbers
Every figure on this site is either arithmetic, such as an address being 56 characters, or clearly marked as a judgement. There are no percentages describing behaviour, no counts of users or vendors, and no timings presented as data.
The temptation to add them is real, because numbers make a page feel researched. We have no way to produce honest ones and no interest in producing dishonest ones.
What we do instead
Sort statements. That is the whole product. Twenty nine claims, three buckets, and a page for each explaining the sort and naming what would change it. See the sorting rule.
What we cannot promise
That the addresses are correct. We publish them as given and we check them for length and alphabet, which is what anybody can check. We cannot verify that they are the addresses the operator intends, because that would require a channel to the operator that we do not have.
So the honest position is that this is one source among several. Compare against another source you reached independently. That advice applies to this site as much as to any other, and the search rank page explains why arriving here from a search result adds nothing.
What would make us add something
A monitoring feature would need a way to describe your path rather than ours, and that does not exist. A recommendation between addresses would need knowledge we could only get by connecting. Both absences are consequences of one decision rather than five separate policies.
What could be added without breaking anything is more statements. The three buckets have room, and the constraint is finding claims common enough to be worth sorting rather than space on the page.
Who runs this
Nobody with a relationship to any market. No account, no arrangement, no contact. The site is a reference and it earns nothing from what you do after reading it.

Why not just add a status checker?
